Job Summary:

Under the Supervision of Senior Conservator, Prints, Drawings and
Photographs, preserves, conserves and stabilizes the photographs in
the permanent art collections of the National Gallery of Canada and
other collections by assessing their condition, by establishing and
promoting preventive care measures, by prescribing and executing
conservation treatments, and by providing professional conservation
advice.  The incumbent will also perform other related duties.

Requirements:

    Post-graduate program in the conservation and restoration of
    photographs;

    Experience in carrying out complete examinations, conservation,
    restoration and documentation processes on photographs;

    Experience in a museum context

    Excellent interpersonal skills, high degree of initiative,
    creativity, accountability, judgment, discretion and
    flexibility;

    Ability to work with minimal supervision;

    Excellent oral and written communication skills;

    Ability to work under pressure in a complex environment;

    Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.

Condition of employment: Enhanced reliability check--this factor is
