I am writing to let you know about our upcoming Special Issue
"Applications of Laser Chemistry for Cultural Heritage" which will
be published in "Laser Chemistry" in February 2012. The submission
deadline for this special Issue is August 15, 2011 and it is open to
both original research articles as well as review articles.

    <URL:http://www.hindawi.com/journals/lc/si/alc/>provides more
    detail:

The introduction of lasers has produced a number of changes
in everyday life as well as in scientific research. However,
the impact of laser-based analytical techniques in Cultural
Heritage has been quite limited until a few years ago. While
most of the current chemical analysis of Cultural Heritage
is still performed in a laboratory, there has been recently
a steady increase of studies performed in the field with
        lasers and laser-based techniques.

The main focus of this special issue will be on the
description of these techniques and of any successful
applications of lasers to the field of Cultural Heritage.
Special emphasis will be placed on the use of lasers for the
chemical analysis of cultural heritage materials. The
special issue will be an international forum for researchers
to summarize the most recent developments and ideas in the
field. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

Lasers in Cultural Heritage: an overview
Nondestructive laser methods for Cultural Heritage
Laser chemical analysis of metals in Cultural Heritage
Laser chemical analysis of pigments and binders in
            Cultural Heritage
            Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy for Cultural
            Heritage
            Micro-Raman spectroscopy for Cultural Heritage
Fiber-optics laser reflectometry for Cultural Heritage
            Laser-induced fluorescence for Cultural Heritage
            Laser holography and interferometry
            3D reconstruction by laser
            Diagnostics of laser cleaning
New laser analytical techniques and future developments
