"Assessing Options for Large Collections" The Library of Congress James Madison Memorial Building 101 Independence Avenue SE Washington, DC 20540 Mumford Room, 6th floor Tuesday, March 15 2011 9:00-4:30 and via live Webcast The event at the Library is free and will also stream worldwide via live Webcast, but registration for either is required. This symposium will evaluate and review the three current best-practice options for the management and care of large-scale general collections, including environmental control, mass deacidification, and digitization. Participants may sign up for optional tours of the Library's Mass Deacidification Facility, Digital Scanning Center, and Fort Meade Low-temperature/High-density Repository. The optional tour of the Fort Meade Repository will be on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 8:30-noon.
