Sculpture Conservator Tate Millbank, London Contract Type: Permanent Salary: UKP27,150 per annum Closing date: 24 March 2011 Tate's Collection comprises some 67,000 works of British art from the 16th century to the present day, international modern and contemporary art. Our Collection Care Division is responsible for ensuring this vast resource is readily accessible and available for all four Tate galleries--now and in the future--through excellence and innovation in care, while preventing damage and deterioration of both nationally respected and internationally renowned pieces. We are seeking an experienced sculpture conservator to work within our Sculpture Conservation team in support of Tate Britain and other sites, and for programmes including displays, exhibitions and loans. Day-to-day, you'll concentrate on assessing, preparing and treating works of art within the Collection and on supporting all related activity. We'll also expect you to keep up-to-date with the latest conservation techniques, ensuring Tate is at the forefront of setting international standards within Collection Care. It's a challenging and varied role which will also include the responsibility of overseeing and supporting the development of other conservation staff.
