Cleaning carpets

From: Amy McKune <amckune<-a>

We have wall-to-wall carpet installed in one of our galleries. It
was installed around 2002 and, other than vacuuming, has never been
cleaned. Our housekeeping staff would like to clean the carpet,
using Fountainhead Carpet Extraction Cleaner. The MSDS is attached
and also available at

This method has some appeal because it does not use steam, but I am
sure there is some off-gassing from the chemicals. All of the
objects in the gallery are displayed in cases. IS this an
acceptable option? If not, is there an acceptable carpet cleaner
available? Thanks.
