Painting Conservator Conservation Dallas Museum of Art Supervisor: Director of Collections Management Scope of Position: The Painting Conservator will be responsible for all aspects of the care and treatment of American and European paintings and other painted works in the collection. In addition, as the DMA is establishing its first conservation lab dedicated to painting conservation, the position will assist in researching materials and equipment and advising on the lab's configuration. The Painting Conservator will be responsible for researching the materials, techniques and ideas of artists represented in the collections and exhibitions of the DMA and will work independently conserving works and collaboratively with the Curatorial and Collections and Exhibitions divisions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Master's degree or equivalent experience in conservation required, with a minimum of 3-5 years experience beyond completion of a conservation graduate program. Experience with diverse materials and historical periods, highly preferred. Familiarity with and understanding of the properties of art and conservation materials and instrumentation.
