Subject: CAC grants and awards deadline extension
Additional Grants and Extended Deadline The Canadian Association for Conservation Board has released additional funds to the Grants Program to assist members with travel and accommodations for attendance at the Annual Conference and/or Workshop in Winnipeg this year. The grant numbers and associated funds will be doubled this year only, to a maximum of $11,000.00 awarded to as many as 16 individuals. Application procedures and guidelines will remain the same, but there will be an extension of the deadline to February 14, 2011. Pass The Torch Grant Michael Harrington, recently retired from his position as Manager of Preservation Services and Training at the Canadian Conservation Institute, would like to "pass the torch" to an emerging Canadian conservator (student or recent graduate of a recognized training program) by supporting CAC Conference/Workshop travel and accommodation expenses to a maximum of $700.00. Applicants for this grant should submit a 250 word essay on "How I See Myself Contributing to the Profession" and fill out the regular Conference/Workshop Grant application form found on the CAC Website at <URL:http://www.cac-accr.ca/english/e-CAC-grants-conference.asp> Unsuccessful applicants for this grant will be considered for the regular Conference and Workshop grants.
