Preventive Conservator Tate Millbank, London Salary: UKP16,290 per annum (pro rata to a full time equivalent of UKP27,150 per annum) Contract Type: Permanent, 3 days/21.6 hrs per week Closing date: 21 January 2011 Tate is committed to promoting public appreciation, awareness and enjoyment of British art from the 16th century to the present day, and of international modern and contemporary art. The Collection Care Division is responsible for ensuring the Collection is preserved and accessible both now and in the future. We are seeking an experienced Preventive Conservator to provide preventive conservation support and expertise for Tate sites and programmes and the works of art in Tate's collection and care. Areas of work will include; Environmental Monitoring, Data collation and Analysis, Integrated Pest Management, Sustainability, Risk Analysis. We'll also expect you to keep up-to-date with the latest preventive conservation techniques, ensuring Tate are at the forefront of setting international standards within Collection Care. You will hold a recognised qualification in Preventive Conservation with demonstrable practical experience. It is essential to have analytical and problem-solving skills, organisational, time-management and planning skills, and to be effective communicator. You will need to be able to work independently and provide specialist advice. Good end-use IT skills will also be necessary with flexibility around working hours and related travel.
