"The Sticking Point: Adhesives and Consolidants in Paintings Conservation" Icon Paintings Group Conference, 6 May 2011 Venue: National Portrait Gallery London Call for Papers Submissions for papers are invited that address research, materials testing and case studies for adhesives and consolidants used in paintings conservation. Papers reviewing historical use of consolidants may also be considered. Those wishing to put forward a paper should send an outline of their proposal as a word document (maximum 500 words). The deadline for proposals has been extended to January 28, 2011, which should be sent to icon.paintingsgroup<-a t->googlemail< . >com If the committee selects your paper for presentation, we will then request a copy of the full paper for review. The deadline for the finished paper is 8 April 2011. Guide for Presenters: Presenters have been allocated a time slot of 25 minutes in total. You should aim to talk for no more than 20 minutes in order to allow sufficient time for changeover. Please do not over-run this time slot, as it would be unfair to the other people presenting in your session. The chair for the session will be timekeeping. Discussion periods have been allocated at the end of the morning and afternoon sessions. For the smooth running of the programme, we would like all presenters to submit a PowerPoint presentation in advance of the conference, preferably no later than 22 April 2011 and send it to icon.paintingsgroup<-a t->googlemail< . >com and ensure you bring a back up copy with you on the day of the conference. We will also require an abstract in word format (approximately 200 words) with a biography of the author(s) for the conference handouts, which should be submitted along with your PowerPoint presentation. If you have any supplementary information/handouts to go with your presentations please let us know in advance and forward any relevant material. Deadlines must be strictly adhered to!
