Clothworker's Foundation Fellowship - Paintings Conservation
Tate

Allowance: UKP22,000 pa

The Clothworker's Foundation Fellowship is an opportunity for a
paintings conservator with some museum experience to develop and
broaden their knowledge by joining one of the leading conservation
teams in the museum world. This Fellowship will be 2 years in
duration.

Through liaising with a wide range of colleagues across Tate, the
fellowship will cover a wide range of conservation activities at any
of the Tate sites covering exhibition processes and long-term
preventive conservation techniques. However, a focus will be placed
on activities related to exhibition and display programmes at Tate
Britain.

The fellow will explore issues related to the conservation and care
of modern and contemporary art through technical examination,
documentation and minor treatment of artworks in the Tate's care.
Emphasis will be placed on the development of skills and knowledge
of conservation issues related to modern and contemporary art. There
will also be an opportunity to undertake a more complex treatment
with a research component connected to the Tate Collection.

Time and UKP1,500 have been allocated for research related travel
and attendance at relevant conferences and courses.

You will hold a recognised qualification in the conservation of
paintings and demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of ethics
and reasoning behind treatment choices and conserving works to a
high standard. You will have excellent communications skills both
verbal and written and work well within a team environment.
