The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) is the
institution in charge of conserving and promoting the culture and
heritage of Abu Dhabi. One of ADACH mission is to make Abu Dhabi the
center of culture in the region while promoting national culture and
identity as a source of pride and inspiration to the people.

ADACH is responsible for the safeguarding and conservation of the
historic buildings and archaeological sites within Abu Dhabi
Emirate. A large part of these are of earthen construction, while a
smaller number are of stone. There is also a stock of modern era
buildings representing the transition of Abu Dhabi to the post-Oil
era.

ADACH is currently looking for a Building Conservation Supervisor

Applicants will be responsible for leading the team of building
conservators in the Conservation Department, in monitoring,
evaluating and implementing of the conservation works for historic
buildings and sites in Abu Dhabi Emirate.

The following responsibilities are required:

    Contributing to the development of the Conservation Department
    action plan in terms of building conservation.

    Supervising the implementation of the building conservation
    activities, in consultation with the Conservation Coordinator
    and Department Director.

    Coordinating the documentation, monitoring and maintenance of
    historic buildings and sites with the Department of Historic
    Environment.

    Leading the team of building conservators in inspecting,
    surveying and developing the database of the historical
    buildings and sites.

    Leading the team of building conservators in assessing the
    historical and architectural importance of buildings and sites
    for conservation, in collaboration with the Historic Buildings
    Division.

    Supervising site works and managing the labor force for
    conservation projects.

    Supervising the preparation of presentations and reports related
    to building conservation work assisting the training of historic
    building conservators in the Department.

Skills, Qualification and Experiences required:

    Academic qualification (graduate level) in the field of heritage
    conservation.

    Minimum 10 years of experience in historic building
    conservation, with a particular focus on earth architecture.

    Good spoken and written English skills. Spoken Arabic skills are
    an advantage.

    Good computer skills (esp. Microsoft Office applications).
