Contemporary Conservation Ltd.

Contemporary Conservation Ltd., a New York City-based conservation
studio specializing in the conservation of contemporary art, is
seeking a permanent full-time conservator trained in paintings.

The candidate will join a team of three full-time conservators and a
studio manager. The studio is located in Manhattan's gallery
district of Chelsea and works closely with major galleries, private
collectors, museums and artists.

The successful candidate should be a graduate of a recognized
conservation training program and have at least two years of post-
graduate experience.

He/she should have profound practical knowledge and experience in
the conservation of modern and contemporary paintings and painted
surfaces, which often involve non-traditional materials and
techniques. The conservator should be well versed in the theoretical
discourse of our profession. He/she should be able to work as part
of a team and also be comfortable making independent decisions. The
ability to work under a tight deadline is essential.

This position offers potential for professional development through
collaboration with artists, investigation of new materials,
contribution to the conservation field and challenging treatments.
