One Year Fellowship in Conservation and Collection Management The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts As part of its Masters programme in Museology, the Sainsbury Centre <URL:http://www.scva.org.uk> offers successful MA Museology applicants the chance to apply for a Training Fellowship within the Centre. The Fellowship in Conservation and Collection Management will provide an introduction to the practical aspects of managing museum collections such as cataloguing and database work as well as preventive conservation strategies. More specific areas of work will include: Auditing and condition surveying, accessioning and de-accessioning, loans in and out of the Collection, temporary exhibitions, environmental monitoring, preservation theory. The Fellowship is undertaken in conjunction with the Masters programme and includes 1-2 days of teaching per week with the rest of the week devoted to museum work. The fellowship is supported by a bursary and is aimed at students who wish to interact with the museum object and will allow the unrivalled access to the diverse Collections held at the Sainsbury Centre.
