Subject: Twitter discussion on collaboration
Conservators are invited to join an organized reading and Twitter discussion of Richard McCoy's "Collaborating in the Public's Domain". The article can be read at the Electronic reviews section of the Web magazine "Conservation, Exposition, Restauration dObjets dArt" or <URL:http://bit.ly/10ZmGx> Conservators are invited to read and review the article in advance. The Twitter discussion <URL:http://www.twitter.com> will take place over the entire day of May 1, 2009. The article and discussion examines the Read and Write nature of Web 2.0 networking sites to provide broad and open access to conservation problems, practice and documentation, including non-conservators. Currently, the hash tag for discussions revolving around Web 2.0 technologies and the conservation profession (the AIC an the annual meeting in Los Angeles) is "#AIC20". If you wish to participate in the discussion or simply read the posts, simply join Twitter for the day (or longer) and once logged in, use the search box on your home page to search for all posts hash tagged #AIC20. This will bring up all posts to date. If a special hash tag is developed for this discussion, I will post the new search tag in the listings. You can also direct tweet me on Twitter as "GOKConservator" for the latest information regarding the discussion.
