Oberlin Conservation Associates, LLC.

An employment opportunity for a conservator of sculpture with broad
expertise in outdoor sculpture is available immediately at Oberlin
Conservation Associates, LLC <URL:http://www.mckaylodge.com>

The conservator will work under the senior sculpture conservator in
a continuing services agreement with McKay Lodge Fine Arts
Conservation Laboratory, Inc. of Oberlin, Ohio, a busy private
practice with activities throughout the United States.

The successful candidate will be a graduate of a recognized United
States or European conservation training program, or have
accumulated comparable training and experiences, and have at least
four years of fellowship/employment experience as a sculpture
conservator.  The successful candidate will also have primary
expertise with stones, mortars and cements, and secondary expertise
with metals.  The successful candidate will have a fine arts
background and be skilled in sculpting, have excellent speaking and
writing ability in English and the ability to communicate at a
professional level with clients including the ability to
attractively format large and complex documents.  Additional
expertise desired include surface preparation of outdoor substrates
for coatings and application of industrial coatings, fine spray
finishing, welding and fabricating, and broad experience with the
tools and machinery of woodworking and outdoor structure
construction. Frequent and distant travel, driving small trucks,
working at heights, and lifting and carrying up to one hundred
pounds are necessary and required parts of the occupation. A good
driving record is essential. Abilities and experiences that enhance
an applicant include past experience in project management, ability
to conduct collection condition information and manage collection
condition information in a variety of databases, ability to create
MS Access relational databases and use VBA programming, and the
ability to create complex projects in QuickBase.

The position will be offered for an initial twelve months with
continuous employment offered at the company's option based on
successful performance. Salary and benefits will be competitive and
will be commensurable with experience and abilities but may be
assumed to exceed such offered in comparable employment situations
in the geographic region.  All reasonable relocation expenses will
be paid in full.
