Call for presentations and participation in ICOM-CC Paintings Working Group Conservation documentation: on-going projects and perspectives This one-day meeting will focus on on-going projects and perspectives in the field of conservation documentation. It will be held at the Wallace Collection in London on 19 September 2009 following the Conference "Studying Old Master Paintings: Technology and Practice at the National Gallery, London (16-18 September 2009). Digital technology challenges conservators to develop new models and strategies for the documentation of art technological, conservation and scientific information; it also opens new perspectives for research, information sharing and dissemination. In this one-day session we will address recent developments in museum documentation systems, international projects and daily conservation practice. In so doing, we intend to stimulate discussion regarding the creation, management and dissemination of documentary information of art technological and conservation aspects of painted works of art. Therefore, the presentation and discussion of initiatives, works in progress will be discussed. Presentations on the following issues are particularly welcome: New initiatives and technologies for study and documentation Conservation documentation models Methodologies for sharing and dissemination of documentation across institutions and international borders Sustainability of digital documentation It is foreseen that presentations should not exceed 15 minutes each. Note: There will be a small charge for participation in this meeting to cover the operating costs.
