Conservation Internships The National Library of Ireland The Chester Beatty Library The Old Library, Trinity College, Dublin In partnership with the Council of National Cultural Institutions and to complement its Museum Standards Programme for Ireland the Heritage Council is supporting conservation internships at: The National Gallery of Ireland The National Library of Ireland The Chester Beatty Library The Old Library, Trinity College, Dublin. The internships are part-funded by the host institutions The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the relevant Conservation Manager and will be involved in every aspect of work carried out in the Conservation Laboratory. This will include condition reporting and treatment of specific collections (book collections and works of art) as well as working on exhibitions, loans, surveys and housing projects. The intern will be encouraged to carry out a short research project on an aspect of the collection, the subject of which will be determined once the internship has begun. Candidates should be recent graduates of a recognised conservation training program (or have equivalent experience). The applicant should have enough experience to be able to work with a degree of independence. Stipend: EUR30,000 per year (subject to normal PRSI and PAYE deductions).
