Storing large format glass negatives

We have recently received a gift of 15 glass plate negatives which
are 14 x 17 inches.  There seem to be no standard size 4-flap
enclosures and boxes ready made for this size.  Our curator would
like the plates to be able to be accessed occasionally for teaching
purposes.  I would be very interested in hearing from other
institutions how glass plates of this size have been housed,
including materials and designs used to make enclosures and storage
boxes.
