PC0902-2-5 March 2009

Tutors: Yvette Fletcher and Roy Thomson

This course will concentrate on where leather is traditionally used,
on period furniture, as interior decoration, upholstery and
wallcoverings as well as library materials. The course will explore
history, techniques and the use of leather and review current
practice in its conservation. The format of the course includes
demonstrations, practical sessions, lectures and case histories and
it will be presented by two leading practitioners both working and
teaching in this specialist area.

Participants are invited to bring objects to the course for
discussion and treatment tests.

The course will encourage active participation from those attending,
to foster the spirit of mutual exchange of ideas and experiences.
There will be a focused emphasis on shared experience, encouraging
the free flow of information and techniques, and participants will
be given the opportunity to discuss their own work and give a short
presentation. The forum created by the course will inform
participants of other experiences with different projects, case
studies and client types, and is an attraction in itself.

Non-residential course fee: UKP345. Fully residential course fee:
>From UKP459.
