Subject: RESTORE
As RESTORE begins its thirty second year of innovative educational programs in architectural conservation, I would like again to express my thanks to the alumni and friends of RESTORE and to ask for your continued support of RESTORE in 2009. Since its founding in 1976, RESTORE has offered a broad range of educational programs in architectural conservation. RESTORE's materials science approach to preservation education is unique, providing the fundamental tools and methodology to understand complex architectural conservation problems. RESTORE brings together a diverse cross-section of people who are entrusted with the preservation of our architectural heritage, including design professionals and cultural resource professionals, artisans and contractors. RESTORE is the only organization in the country that is providing technical preservation education to this diverse constituency. RESTORE is funded primarily by grants and by tuition from our workshops and courses. Those sources cover only part of RESTORE's yearly budget. We depend on contributions from RESTORE Alumni and friends to help bridge the gap between expenditures and income. RESTORE is counting on your donations now more than ever. At a time when the need for RESTORE's innovative educational programs is critical to people in the building preservation industry, Federal and State funding has been drastically cut or eliminated. With your generous support, RESTORE will be able to sustain its innovative programs and continue to provide outstanding educational programs. RESTORE has a successful track record in preservation education which is evident in the number of RESTORE Alumni that have participated in the numerous iconic preservation projects undertaken in New York during the last three decades. All have had RESTORE Alumni on the job. Your contribution to RESTORE will have an impact beyond helping RESTORE directly; your support will also further preservation knowledge and education and enlightened stewardship of our architectural heritage. Please show your support for RESTORE by making a contribution. Your contribution is critically important and will have an impact. All donations to RESTORE are fully tax deductible. Your generosity on behalf of RESTORE is greatly appreciated!
