LED lights in exhibition cases

Glasgow Museums, as part of a new museum project, are considering
the use of LED light-sources for the display of objects. There is a
perhaps historical perception of LED sources offering poor colour
rendering, countering the benefits of energy efficiency, zero UV
emissions and long-life. There has been discussion on this topic on
the DistList in the past, but this technology has moved quickly,
particularly the improved colour rendering of tri- and
tetra-chromatic white LED sources, and we would love to hear from
any institution which has employed the use of LEDs in the display of
objects and artworks.
