Call for Papers

The Institute of Conservation: Paintings Group Conference.
"The Final Touch: Artists' Varnishes Past and Present"

A one day conference on artists' approach to varnishing Is to be
held at The Wallace Collection, London 18 April 2008

Submissions for papers are invited that address any of the following
topics: Artists' approaches to varnishing, differential varnishes,
tinted varnishes or criteria for establishing the presence of an
artist's varnish. Papers giving an art historical background may be
considered

Those wishing to propose a paper should email an outline of their
proposal as a word document (maximum 500 words) to:
