How to Care for Plastics Workshop
Making the Most of Plastics in your Collection
Edinburgh

Do you need help with identifying and caring for plastics in your
collections and would you like to know more about plastics in
relation to art, design and social history? If so, this workshops is
for you.

This workshop will look at:

    Milestones in the development and use of plastics
    Identification: plastic materials and production techniques
    Care of plastics

The workshops will be informal: you will have plenty of opportunity
to ask questions and you are welcome to bring along objects for
discussion.

The workshops are also a means of gathering information for an
e-manual for the care and articulation of plastics which will be
published on the web through Collections Link.  Delegates will be
encouraged to be involved in shaping its content and credited for
their involvement.

The workshops are funded by a Museums, Libraries and Archives
Subject Specialist Network Implementation grant and are therefore
free but space is limited so please book early.
