We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to join
the Exhibitions Section of the Conservation Department based in
their recently refurbished facilities at NGV: International, located
on St Kilda Road, Melbourne.

The National Gallery of Victoria <URL:http://www.ngv.vic.gov.au> has
an extensive exhibitions programme that includes solo-venue and
travelling exhibitions comprising both collection material and loans
from the public and private sectors, nationally and internationally.
Under limited supervision this conservator will provide the
conservation input for individual exhibition project teams. This
will include assessing the needs of individual artworks, condition
reporting, treating within their area of specialisation and
providing advice on all aspects of packing, transport and display of
irreplaceable works of art across all media types.

Applicants must have a tertiary qualification from a recognised art
conservation training programme or equivalent, sound work experience
within an arts institution and the ability to work as a generalist
