Assistant Objects Conservator
The Frick Collection

The Frick Collection is seeking a full time Assistant Conservator.
The Assistant Conservator will carry out treatments on the
collection of decorative arts and sculpture, conduct technical
studies, and participate in work related to a lively exhibition
program.  This entry-level position requires a team player to assist
in wide ranging responsibilities including monitoring the
environment, installations, and working with technicians and
interns. The successful candidate will also assist the Conservator
in serving as an advocate on matters concerning the preservation of
the historic Frick house.

Qualifications include a Master's degree in conservation with an
additional one to two years of postgraduate fellowships or
employment.  Must have a demonstrated understanding of current
conservation treatment and documentation practices.  Some gilding
conservation experience is desirable.  Excellent diplomacy and
communications skills, ability to interact well with colleagues and
service contractors at all levels.
