Gilardoni X-ray machine

The Durban Art Gallery had a Gilardoni X-Ray unit installed
approximately 15 years ago by the then Easel Paintings Conservator.
The machine was never used and was subsequently forgotten about
after said Conservator moved on. What I would like to find out is
whether the unit is still in working order and safe to use? We are
also wanting to relocate the machine to our Conservation Centre and
would like to know if there is anyone qualified to do so in South
Africa or if we can do it ourselves?

Any suggestions would be most welcome.
