The Horniman Museum

The Horniman Museum currently has two Conservator vacancies:

Conservator (Natural History)
Fixed term for 12 weeks to be completed before March 2008
Salary up to UKP22,189 per annum pro rata

    You will work on objects designated for inclusion in a major
    project to refurbish the Natural History Gallery. The post
    holder should either have a recognised qualification in objects
    conservation or proven experience in the conservation of a wide
    range of natural history specimens.  You will also be required
    to have experience which encompasses the care, documentation and
    conservation of a wide range of organic and inorganic objects in
    a museum environment.

Conservator (Music from India)
Fixed term for 5 weeks to be completed before November 2007
Salary up to UKP22,189 per annum pro rata

    You will work on musical instruments primarily from the Kerala
    region of India designated for inclusion in a major temporary
    exhibition due to open in March 2008. The post holder should
    have a recognised qualification in objects conservation and
    experience which encompasses the care, documentation and
    conservation of a wide range of organic and inorganic objects in
    a museum environment.
