One year fixed-term maternity cover

Oxford Conservation Consortium provides collection care to ten
colleges of the University of Oxford and the National Trust. We wish
to appoint a book/paper conservator for a fixed term of one year to
work in our busy studio with a small team managing conservation and
preservation programmes.

We seek an organised, motivated conservator with creative and
flexible problem-solving skills to carry out conservation treatments
and preservation activities, supervise staff when necessary, and
assist the Head Conservator with co-ordination of studio workflow
and operations.

The successful applicant will have a recognised qualification and
proven experience in book and paper conservation, with some
supervisory experience. Applicants should have a high level of
manual dexterity and good understanding of library/archive
materials. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills are
essential, together with basic computer literacy and the ability to
work well in a team. Professional accreditation is desirable. Salary
UKP23,692 - UKP28,289 per annum. Benefits include generous holidays,
