Storing flags

A storage solution is sought for two huge collections of flags

At the present time two Danish museum institutions are trying to
work out storage solutions for two huge collections of flags. There
are respectively 400 and 500 flags, which for most of them have a
size around 180cm x 190cm or below. Since many of the flags are
painted, have applications or consists of several layers, they are
neither easy to roll around the flagstaff nor a designed pipe. We
are seeking a suitable storage solution where the flags are able to
lie plane. Therefore we would be very grateful to hear of your
ideas, experiences or names and addresses of suppliers of compact
storage systems or similar.
