On Thursday 17 May 2007 the British Library Centre for Conservation
opened its doors to the public. In order to promote the Centre to
introduction to the new Centre and its permanent exhibition. The
exhibition gives an insight into how books can deteriorate, and the
range of solutions available to preserve them for the future. Sound
restoration techniques are also featured.

The microsite also informs visitors of other events and displays
that are taking place in the Centre and additional information on
conservation and sound archiving at the Library and opportunities
for professional training.

Visitors to the site can watch videos of the Library's Conservators
carrying out treatments on collection items. Information on caring
for your treasures is also available, as well as links to other
websites that offer more guidance.
