The conservation department at Conservation Centre Vejle
<URL:http://www.konsv.dk> seeks applicants for a fixed term
contract, initially for a period of 1 year.

The department service 7 regional museums with mixed collections and
employ 8 conservators specialising in textile, social history,
paper, paintings and archaeological conservation as well as
additional staff on fixed term projects.

A recognised qualification in textile conservation and practical
experience is required.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and
committed individual, who can work independently and to deadlines,
is keen to develop existing skills and knowledge as well as
acquiring new ones.

It is also essential that the candidate is interested in working
with a range of different museum professionals and must therefore
possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills in addition
to good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities include examination, photographic, digital, written
documentation and conservation of a range of textile based objects.
Preparation of objects for exhibition, including

designing and making mounts. Taking part in general conservation
activities such as environmental monitoring, climate and collection
surveys and rehousing, exhibition design, developing and running
workshops for other museum professionals.

As our textile conservator is having a one-year educational leave
the successful candidate will work one month together with her and
then take over the responsibility for textile conservation.
