We are pleased to announce a full day of activities based on the
subject of cold storage of photographic materials. Speakers
confirmed so far include internationally renown Henry Wilhelm, Ian
Moor from the Centre for Photographic Conservation, Hilary Roberts
from the Imperial War Museum and Kate Jennings from the Tate

During the morning sessions Henry Wilhelm, author of "The Permanence
and Care of Color Photographs" will consider some of the issues
surrounding cold storage of photographs and describe recent project
work; Ian Moor will pose the question "Suppressed Storage - What is
it?"; Hilary Roberts and Kate Jennings will each present practical
case studies from their respective institutions.

At lunchtime there will be representatives from relevant suppliers
who will display and discuss their products, plus an optional tour
of award-winning Heelis. Lunch will be provided by National Trust

The afternoon sessions will be held next door at the National
Monuments Record (NMR) where delegates will visit NMR's vast cold
storage facility and conservation studio, and attend a demonstration
on packaging for cold storage.
