Marshall Steel Post-Graduate Fellowships in Paper and Upholstery
Colonial Williamsburg

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is seeking qualified candidates
for two post-graduate internships, one in paper conservation and one
in upholstery conservation. Paper-based collections include 18th
century English and American drawings, paintings, prints, maps,
wallpaper and documents; and folk art from the 18th century to the
present. Upholstered collections comprise a broad range of important
18th and early 19th century English and American furniture. Interns
will be involved in all aspects of preserving these collections,
including research, examination, analysis, treatment, documentation
and housing.

The internships are for one year and may begin immediately. An
additional year may also be available. Annual compensation is
highly competitive and is commensurate with education level. A
generous benefits package and travel stipend is included.

Candidates should be graduates of a recognized conservation training
program and have demonstrated skill and experience in the specific
discipline.
