Assistant Textile Conservator
UKP19,210 - UKP23,245 per annum plus pension
Full time, 2 year temporary contract

    We are seeking an able, practical conservator to support all
    aspects of the conservation of the textile and related
    collections, including the recently acquired Jean Muir
    Collection, loans and exhibitions. You will have a theoretical
    understanding of materials and treatments, and will be aware of
    professional conservation issues and best practice. With a
    degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, you will also have
    a professional conservation qualification and proven relevant
    work experience. You will be adept at problem solving, able to
    manage your time and work, alone or with others, to meet
    deadlines, and will have good communication and ICT skills.

    We are seeking an excellent practical conservator to cover the
    maternity leave of the permanent postholder. You will have a
    good understanding of materials and treatments, be able to work
    on a diverse range of works of art on paper, and will be
    informed and knowledgeable about professional conservation
    issues. You will have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant
    subject, plus a professional paper conservation qualification
    and proven relevant work experience. A good communicator and
    team member, you will be organised, methodical, adept at problem
    solving, and will have good ICT skills.

Artefact Conservator

    secondment of the permanent postholder. You will primarily
    provide support to the Royal Museum Project, through the
    conservation of ethnographic material and the move of
    ethnography collections. You will have a good understanding of
    materials and treatments, and will be informed and knowledgeable
    about professional conservation issues. You will have a degree
    (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, plus a professional
    conservation qualification and proven relevant work experience.
    A good communicator and team member, you will be organised,
    methodical, adept at problem solving, and will have good ICT
    skills.
