0.6 (or Full Time)

The Foundation Degree in Book Conservation has been developed in
close partnership with the British Library. It aims to prepare the
next generation of conservators with the relevant knowledge, skills
and professional awareness in order to secure the future of books
from all cultures and periods of history as part of the world's
heritage. The course will have strong links to employment, with
students taking up placements at the British Library and other
museums, collections and national centres of excellence.

You will oversee the delivery, development and continuous
improvement of FdA Book Conservation within the broader portfolio of
undergraduate and postgraduate conservation courses at Camberwell.
You will be responsible for managing the course team, ensuring
effective communication and maintaining and creating links with
external partners and stakeholders.

We are looking for a practicing book conservator or someone working
in a relevant area such as a museum or private collections. An
understanding and experience of higher education and a genuine
commitment to the development of book conservation in higher
education and outside establishments will be essential. You will
also need proven ability in team leadership, course administration
and assessment procedures. There may be a further opportunity for a
suitably qualified applicant to be offered a full time role working
across this 0.6 post and a 0.4 role in Bookbinding and Book Arts
course at London College of Communication.

In return, University of Arts London offers generous leave, a final
salary pension and a commitment to your continuing personal
development and training in an environment that encourages
excellence, creativity and diversity.
