Inorganic Analytical Chemist
National Museum of Denmark

The Laboratory, Department of Conservation, National Museum of
Denmark wishes to appoint an inorganic, analytical chemist with
immediate effect.

Responsibilities

    *   Analysis of materials using optical and low-vacuum  scanning
        electron microscopies.

    *   Metallographic examination of museum artefacts

    *   Identification of inorganic materials using vibrational
        spectroscopic techniques and X-ray diffraction

    *   Participating in research projects and collaborating with
        research staff

Qualifications: Applicants should have qualifications based on
inorganic chemistry.  An analytical chemist with knowledge and
practical experience of both glass and metals is preferred.
Applicants should be open minded and show a willingness to
collaborate with other museum professionals.  This position requires
flexibility and an ability to work independently.  There is the
opportunity to attend courses to further the postholder's
knowledge. It is preferred that applicants have experience within
the area of preservation of cultural heritage.

Employment may involve travel. Applicants must have a valid full
driving licence.

Terms of employment: 37 hours per week. Salary is in agreement
between the Ministry of Finance and Danish Association of Masters
and PhDs.
