We are seeking a qualified and experienced conservator for this
exciting opportunity to work in a newly fitted-out conservation
workshop in the new Treasure House building in Beverley, which
houses the East Riding Archives and Local Studies Service.   The
Senior Conservator will have the chance to set up a new conservation
service in a purpose built archive building that opened to the
public in January 2007.  Hours 37 per week with weekend and evening
work as required for service outreach work. The Senior Conservator
will manage the conservation section and supervise the work of other
conservation staff, volunteers and temporary contract workers. The
postholder will devise conservation work programmes and priorities,
carry out practical conservation work on the whole range of archival
material and book collections and assist in the preparation of
exhibitions.
