Sydney University Museums is comprised of three individual Museums;
the Nicholson Museum, Macleay Museum and the University Art
Collection. There is a unique opportunity currently available for a
proactive and diligent Conservator to manage all conservation
services for Sydney University Museums. Responsible for ensuring all
collections are cared for to museum standards, you will maintain
disaster preparedness, preventative conservation methods and
participate in loan and exhibition programs.

To succeed, you will need a Bachelors degree in Materials
Conservation and experience managing conservation within a
recognised institution. You will be expected to have a solid
understanding of museum mediums, materials and artefacts, as well as
experience in project management and program development and
delivery. Demonstrated knowledge of museum practices relevant to
current preventative and treatment techniques, applicable to a wide
range of collections will be essential, as will your ability to use
hand tools and collection management systems. A drivers licence is
also a must.
