Salary Entry: $30,716 Maximum: $46,929 Annually

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is an AAM-accredited, Gilded Age estate
in a spectacular subtropical setting on Biscayne Bay. Vizcaya
consists of 14 National Historic Landmark buildings on 50 acres of
grounds, with 2,500 art and 35,000 archival objects. The Main House
features lavish interiors reflecting a unique interpretation of
European history. Vizcaya attracts approximately 185,000 guests each
year. The Vizcaya Collections Care Technician reports to the Vizcaya
Collections and Archives Manager and is responsible for daily
cleaning, ongoing care and condition monitoring of Vizcaya's
historic interiors and collections.

Responsibilities include hands-on cleaning of furnishings and
associated decorative objects in historic interiors; monitoring
condition of collections, and accompanying on-site subcontractors
and assisting, as needed, in conservation treatment of objects.
Additional duties may include assisting Vizcaya Collections and
Archives Manager in inventory, cataloguing, storage, display and
housing of collections materials. Incumbent will use knowledge of
professional standards for collections care, may lift objects up to
30 lbs., and climb stairs and/or ladders.

Bachelor's degree in Art, Art History, Museum Studies or related
field. Additional related experience may substitute for required
education on a year-for-year basis. Experience in museum
environment, such as an internship or work experience in
conservation or curatorial position is highly preferred.
