Workshop on Pacific museums and cultural centres

Emerging Pacific Cultural Centres Workshop

A five day specialised museum workshop for personnel designing or
working on Pacific Museums and Cultural Centres is to be held at the
Australian Museum, Sydney, May 7-11, 2007.

The workshop will include discussions on the broad needs of cultural
centres, development of architectural concept briefs, planning for
and constructing museum buildings, Museum environments and
collection storage, sponsorship and fundraising, developing
marketing strategies, and capacity development guidelines, for
Pacific Island Museums and Cultural Centers.

This workshop is organized in partnership with Pacific Islands
Museum Association (PIMA) and funded through an ICOM-Australian
National Committee/AusAID grant.
