The conservation department at Langeland's Museum, Denmark seeks
applicants for a fixed term contract, initially for a period of 3
months, but most likely for longer.

The department service 14 regional museums with mixed collections
and employ 4 full time conservators specialising in textile, social
history, furniture and archaeological conservation as well as
additional staff on fixed term projects.

A recognised qualification in paper conservation or equivalent such
as training in a conservation studio and practical experience is
required.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed
individual, who can work independently and to deadlines, is keen to
develop existing skills and knowledge as well as acquiring new ones.
It is also essential that the candidate is interested in working
with a range of different museum professional, and must therefore
possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills in addition
to good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities include examination, photographic, digital and
written documentation and remedial conservation of a range of paper
based objects. Preparation of objects for exhibition, including
designing and making mounts. Taking part in general conservation
activities such as environmental monitoring, climate and pest
control, collection surveys and  rehousing, exhibition design,
developing and running workshops for other museum professionals.
