The National Park Service, Harpers Ferry Center (HFC) is seeking
applications from pre-program or graduate-level conservation
students and post-graduates. Preference will be given to applicants
with objects treatment experience. Up to three internships will be
awarded, with each being 8-10 weeks in length. Stipends will be
provided.

Interns will work at HFC with objects conservation staff to document
and treat a variety of Civil War objects from the Gettysburg
National Military Park.  The objects are both organic and inorganic
in nature, including but not limited to medical kits, leather
accoutrements, and archaeological finds. The treatment of these
artifacts is in preparation for their installation in the new Museum
and Visitor Center at Gettysburg, scheduled to open in 2008.

Applications must include the following:

    *   A letter of interest that includes the dates that the
        candidate would be available to work at HFC (between May 15
        and October 1, 2007)

    *   A curriculum vitae including current contact information

    *   Names and contact information of two references
