Preservation Field Service Manager
SOLINET

The Southeastern Library Network (SOLINET) is seeking a
knowledgeable and experienced professional committed to the
importance of preserving library and archival collections for the
future to lead a dynamic Preservation Field Services program. The
Manager of Preservation Field Services directs a team that provides
expert training, education, consultation and information/referral,
and supports libraries and archives in planning and implementing
preservation programs. In addition, the Manager will develop
educational programming and expand SOLINET's expertise in the
preservation and management of digital resources. As a regional and
national leader in preservation, the Manager of Preservation Field
Services is responsible for raising awareness of preservation needs,
issues, and trends and shaping the future direction of SOLINET with
respect to development and delivery of innovative and valuable
preservation services for southeastern libraries and archives.

SOLINET, a membership organization of libraries in the Southeast and
Caribbean, is a nationally recognized leader in preservation
education and collaborative preservation solutions for libraries and
archives. The Manager of Preservation Field Services will develop
in-depth knowledge of members' needs and preservation trends, manage
an active training and consulting program, represent SOLINET and
members in regional and national forums, participate in
organizational planning and evaluation efforts, direct a
high-performance Preservation Field Services team, develop and
manage budgets and grant projects, and engage with the management
team to identify opportunities to expand SOLINET's preservation
programming.

A successful Manager of Preservation Field Services will have broad
knowledge of preservation in libraries and/or archives, specific
knowledge and expertise in preservation for digital resources,
experience in creating and delivering workshops and presentations,
demonstrated leadership ability, excellent interpersonal and
communication skills, demonstrated team-building skills, and strong
planning skills. A MLS and at least 3 years of relevant work
experience is required, or equivalent education and experience.
