Maternity cover (fixed term 6 months)

Hours: 37 per week
Salary: UKP23,181 per annum

Reporting to: Principal Investigator

Our current research assistant has taken maternity leave and we are
looking for a cover for a six month period from an individual with
post doctoral or equivalent professional standing with a strong
interest in furniture history to conduct specific tasks as part of
this AHRC funded project to digitise the High Wycombe Furniture
Archive. This is a great opportunity for career development or for
some one with a strong interest in twentieth century history and
archival material.

Purpose of Job: To interpret and translate the analogue High Wycombe
Furniture archival collection into a standardised catalogued digital
format, as a project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research
Council resource enhancement scheme. To assist in the development of
the website.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    To develop a consistent and precise furniture vocabulary

    To enter appropriate metadata into the project database

    Work closely with and co-ordinate with the technical digital
    archivist

    Develop an academic journal article promoting the project

    To work with the Co-Investigator on developing a questionnaire
    for conducting digital oral interviews

    To assist in the development of the website

    Assist in conference preparation

    Participate in weekly project team meetings

    Liaise with external archives and agencies
