Programme Tutor
Conservation-Restoration of Furniture and Related Objects

Salary scale : WD Senior Lecturer

West Dean <URL:http://www.westdean.org.uk> is a small, specialist
college of the arts in the South Downs six miles north of
Chichester. Edward James, a major patron of surrealism in Britain,
founded the College in 1964 to promote the importance of art in
everyday life. The University of Sussex validates the College's
undergraduate and postgraduate awards. Teaching is in small groups,
located in dedicated studio workshops with an average student to
staff ratio of 7:1.

The College is seeking to recruit an experienced academic leader,
who will be supported by the current experienced full-time furniture
conservation-restoration tutor, to take responsibility for
developing a new Furniture and Related Objects Conservation
Programme from July 2007 following a strategic decision to
re-structure this important area of provision. The successful
candidate will possess a higher degree in a relevant discipline,
have teaching experience at the Masters degree level and be an
outstanding practitioner.

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and
experienced person to take a leading role in the planning,
validation and delivery of undergraduate and post-graduate
programmes within a small, private university sector College.
