Water pump

I have recently been contacted by someone without direct access to
the Conservation DistList asking for help in choosing and locating a
suitable portable water pump.

Any suggestions, particularly from UK people, of the type of
equipment one should opt for and sources would be most useful. The
collection concerned is after something not too heavy which can be
deployed quickly and easily in the event of flooding in storage
areas.
