Subject: Mummy
Ref: this discussion, a very interesting series started on TV (in UK) last night regarding DNA testing on Pharaohs. This has been successfully done but how would fumigation affect DNA testing? I realise your mummy may not be from an important family but in decades to come DNA testing could become a simple routine but only if the residual genetic material has not been damaged. I did not get the name of the researcher but he is based at Brigham Young University. Worth watching this series when it hits your screen.
