Position at Museum Conservation Services Ltd

From: Nicholas Burnett <mcs>
Date: Wednesday, October 18, 2000
Paper conservator
Museum Conservation Services Ltd

Museum Conservation Services Ltd
<URL:http://paperconservation.co.uk> has a vacancy for a conservator
specialising in works of art on paper. We are seeking a paper
conservator with a relevant qualification and post- qualification
experience.

Our studio was originally set up twenty-five years ago as part of a
regional museum service. We were refounded as a private company in
1995. We continue to work almost exclusively for museums and public
institutions and to museum standards. Thus experience within a
museum would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will work alongside four other conservators
in our spacious and superbly equipped conservation studio situated
in Cambridge, England. The work involves practical conservation of a
range of material including watercolours, drawings, prints, pastels
and manuscript maps. The studio also undertakes some work on
archives and historic photographs. Site visits for advisory/survey
work will also be required.

The post is full time with an initial contract of three years.

Salary UKP13,000 to UKP17,000 dependent upon experience. Salaries
are reviewed annually.
