(Superannuable fixed-term post, to the end of July 2002)

Your role will be to offer conservation and preservation support,
involving assessing the condition and carrying out necessary
conservation to pamphlets, printed books and manuscripts on paper.
You will construct conservation packaging, compile and maintain
statistics on work undertaken and have the opportunity to assist in
Library promotional work. You will also deputise for the
Conservation and Preservation Officer within agreed guidelines in
their absence.

The successful applicant should possess sound knowledge and relevant
experience. You will be responsible to the Library's Preservation
and Conservation Officer, but need to be able to work unsupervised
to predetermined output levels. Experience in pamphlet conservation,
conservation packaging and/or exhibition work would be an advantage.

Starting salary in the range GBP 16,072 - 18,268 incl London
Allowance.
