Kress Fellowship Museum of Fine Arts, Boston The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston is offering a Kress Fellowship in Objects Conservation for a twelve-month period beginning in the fall of 2000. The primary objective of the Fellowship is to examine and treat copper alloy artifacts from Chanhu Daro in the Indus Valley, Harappan civilization (c.2500-1900 BCE). The project includes research into alloy composition and the manufacturing methods used in the fabrication of these artifacts. Opportunities will also be presented to work on additional projects in the objects conservation laboratory. The Fellow will work primarily with Pamela Hatchfield, Head of Objects Conservation, and Richard Newman, Head of Scientific Research. The stipend offered is $25,000, with a generous benefits and travel package.
